جملے کے آخر میں ا، تھا، ی تھی، ی تھے، یا ا، ی، ی، آتے ہیں۔

مندرجہ ذیل جگہوں پر استعمال ہوتا ہے۔
ایسے کام جو ماضی میں مکمل ہو چکے ہوں، عموماً ان کے ساتھ ماضی کے جملے استعمال ہوتے ہیں۔(i)

(b) She departed from this world last night.
افعال کے وقت کے بتانے والے الفاظ کے بغیر بھی یہ زمانہ استعمال ہوتا ہے۔(ii)
(a) I passed my matriculation from Bahawalpur.
(b) I met Mohsin in Lahore.
ماضی کی عادات کو ظاہر کرتا ہے۔(iii)
(a) He delieverd a lecture yesterday.
(b) He always helped the needy.
مندرجہ ذیل الفاظ کے ساتھ عموماً ماضی غیر مقررہ زمانہ استعمال ہوتا ہے۔
